Try this delicious and fortified coffee for your morning drink… or afternoon… or evening. Any time is a good time to drink coffee in my opinion. Learn how to make cozy cinnamon vanilla coffee as a nice variation on your regular and something to look forward to throughout the day… It’s the simple things in life.
Whether you have a drip coffee maker, a French press, or espresso machine, you can make this cozy drink!
Equipment you’ll need
- Way to brew coffee (drip maker, French press, espresso machine, pour over, mocha pot, etc.)
- Some way to blend ingredients (immersion blender, whisk, electric mini whisk, etc.)
- Some way to froth milk- same as above
How to brew your coffee
Of course, coffee is ultimately a personal preference on strength of brew, added sweetness, cream, milk, etc. Everyone has a different idea of flavor composition they enjoy and the method used for achieving that. In this recipe for cinnamon vanilla coffee I’ll be making suggestions but it’s totally up to you!
Needed Ingredients with Tips for Cozy Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee
- Coffee- Whatever your brewing method, I recommend a strong coffee since it will be mixed with other liquids. You can achieve this by adding more grounds than usual or using an espresso machine. Coffee is always best freshly ground vs. buying pre-ground due to the fact it begins to loose its flavor very soon after it’s ground.
- Cinnamon- regular cinnamon you find in the baking aisle does the trick
- Collagen Peptides- I use grass-fed, quick-dissolve. Collagen is well-known for it’s health benefits for your joints along with adding a little extra protein.
- Coconut Oil
- Whole Milk- the milk choice for any coffee is a personal preference. Soy, 1%, 2%, skim will froth as well
- Vanilla Syrup- I use a sugar-free option but this too is a personal preference. You can also make your own vanilla simple syrup to add to your coffee.
How to make Cozy Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee
- Strongly brew your coffee with whatever method you prefer
- Add the coconut oil, collagen peptides, 1/4-1/3 tsp. of cinnamon, and syrup to your mug
- Pour about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of coffee or espresso onto the oil and collagen
- whisk until frothy
- add steamed and frothed milk
- garnish with more cinnamon or ground nutmeg
How to get steamed/frothed milk without a machine
If you don’t have a milk steamer or milk frother you can get that warm, cozy frothed milk other ways.
One- use a French press. Heat milk in microwave or on stove. Do Not Boil. A good test is that it’s just a little too hot to keep your finger in it. Then put the milk in your French press, put the lid on, and pump the handle up and down quickly until the milk is foamy. Pour over your coffee and enjoy!
Two- heat milk on the stovetop and once it’s hot but Not Boiling put whisk between your hands and rub in a back and fourth motion so the whisk is spinning through the milk. This method will require a little extra elbow grease so keep with it and when the foam is to your liking add to your coffee!
Feel free to garnish your coffee with more cinnamon or freshly ground nutmeg as seen here. I find more and more that it’s totally worth the extra time to make things a little nicer and more enjoyable despite the small inconvenience it may bring. Making your coffee drink beautiful is one of those things.
I’d love to know how your coffee turns out!
